Camphorated Eye Water

1 dram of Camphor 20 drops of spirits
of wine, rub them together until the
Camphor becomes a powder then add
a pint of boiling water, strain it through
linen & bottle it up.
If the Eyes are inflam’d add equal parts
of the above & spirit of Mindererus &
bathe the Eyes 3 or 4 times a day
 

Annotations
A solution of ammonium acetate and alcohol usually used to treat fever.
