A remedy for treating jaundice using dock seed or rhubarb mixed with wine. No. 161, p. 93.
For the cure of the Jaundice
Take 2 handfuls of dockseed or English rhubarb
& boil them gently in 3 pints of water an hour,
then Let them cool, then Strain it of through a fine
Sieve put into it, half a pint of Mountain wine,
Drink a Gill 3 times a day, when the stomack
is most clear, sweetening it, or not, as you Like.
