Andersons Pills. Aloes, Jalap
& Oil of Anniseed
Barclay’s Anti-bilious Pills --
Extract of Colocynth, 2 drams

Extract of Jalap 1 dram;

Almond soap 1 dram; & half

Guiacum 3 drams
Tartarized antimony 8 drams
Essential Oil of Juniper, Carraway
& Rosemary of each 4 drops
form d in a mass with syrup of
Buckthorn, & divided into sixty four
Pills. 

 

Annotations
A genus of flowering plants native to the subtropical and tropical regions of America, guaiacum was introduced to Europe in the sixteenth century and used to treat a variety of ailments, including syphilis. (Also guajacum)
