             Elements Salve
1 Ounce of Beeswax shav'd fine
¼ lb red lead
½ pint of sweet oil
1 ounce [common] turpentine
½ ounce Basilican
    boild together in an earthen pipken
    on a slow fire till it turns to a
    blackish color. __Must be kept
    stird till it is done.__
        N. B. If the pipken is new it must
        be soak’d 24 hours in cold water
        before it is us’d.
