                    Recipe for making Paint ------

To a Common bucket full of *lime, white wash put three
pounds of brown sugar & one quart of fine salt and when
thoroughly mix’d, it will be fit for use, the colour may
be changed by adding Lamp black, Red or yellow Ochre
to, it          *unslacked lime.

                                   Another -------

Mix white Lime with Salt Water, and heat it
until  it comes to a boil & when cold it will be fit for
use. ---

N.B. Glue or the Water in which Codfish heads
        have been boild make a good Cement for
        lime Wash
